    The '76 recording was sheer perfection. Every live version sounds like a drunk lady doing karaoke!

    Um the year is wrong. This was recorded on her THIS IS IT album which was released in 1976. Love her.

      I remember when it came out too. That one note, not many can do it.

    I think more than Barbara Strisand, and Mariah Carey.
    Personality I feel Melba's range is "SUPERIOR"
    because she can hit those notes whenever !
    But what I love best is when she's held a note (forever) and then with in The same note no breath taken say's something.
    Best example "lean on me " old version !!
    Got to hear it to know what I'm talking about😊 😊
